Hazbin Hotel's Showrunner Is Aware of Fans' Season 2 Bingo Cards — And She Has Good News

The highly-awaited second season of the musical adult cartoon Hazbin Hotel debuts on the streaming platform this week, and fan speculation has been intense.

The first season introduces a large cast of personalities residing in Hell and Heaven, sets them at odds accompanied by musical numbers detailing their conflicts, and builds heated competitions and angsty, affectionate connections that drive audience devotion.

The community's expectations for season 2 differ greatly, but certain themes recur frequently: Could Angel Dust escape his tormentor? Might we learn more about the mysterious "deal" constraining the enigmatic Alastor? Might certain characters' relationships evolve?

"Naturally, I don't produce the show with audience demands as the main goal," the creator stated earlier this year. "But I believe that me being a devotee of the series means there's a lot of it just naturally. I also want to see these things, and I want some of these things to occur, and obviously some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

The creator says her long-term vision is for a five-season run of Hazbin Hotel. Future installments have already been green-lit by the production companies, which produce the series.

That could imply viewers have to be patient for some of the biggest payoffs — but they may be surprised at how fast the new season moves, and how much of what they're waiting for happens this season.

"I believe people are going to get a lot out of it," the creator notes. "There are several debut moments. I think we get some incredible disclosures, some fascinating backstories, and even basic elements, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] Audiences will experience much more singing from the previously silent cast members."

She's certainly aware of the guesses and hopes about the upcoming season — especially in the format of fan bingo cards.

"I've come across a couple people make a bingo card about the new season," she mentions. "Obviously I won't share it, but I've actually done some of them, and nearly every one of them have almost a bingo. I thought, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that makes me think we accomplish much [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I realized, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that brings me joy."

Hazbin Hotel season 2 premieres on Prime Video on October 29.
