Energy infrastructure under attack in the region
The country's energy systems have faced increased attacks in the past few days

During the night, Russian aerial assaults have caused power cuts in large parts of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

Nine people were wounded while local people in eastern districts were left without electricity and encountered disruption to water supplies, per reports from municipal leaders.

Meanwhile, a seven-year-old child was lost their life in a separate aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia region in the southern area, according to regional authorities.

Moscow has intensified attacks on power infrastructure over recent weeks, while the country's government has called for "concrete actions" from allies to exert influence on Moscow.

"What's needed is not superficial actions but firm measures - from the United States, the EU and the Group of Seven - in supplying defensive weapons and applying sanctions," was stated in a social media post.

Authorities reported that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and more than 30 projectiles targeted Ukraine's energy infrastructure, labeling such strikes as "strategic and deliberate" and against "essential services" as the weather cools.

Government representatives said Moscow was "launching a major assault" and maintenance teams were striving to repair systems.

A series of attacks hit electrical systems and apartment buildings in the capital.

Multiple people wounded in the assaults on the city have been taken to hospital, per statements from local officials.

Area administrators said the urban area experienced heavy assaults during nighttime hours. A minor died and multiple civilians were hurt.

The attacks follow evenings of bombing campaigns in the area, sections of which are currently controlled by Moscow's military.

The entire country is in a state of readiness for advanced weapon attacks, which are tougher to spot.

National leaders told the media that Russia was intentionally trying to demolish the national power system, with attacks already disrupting fuel infrastructure.

He said utility staff and officials were preparing for more assaults.
