The popular resale platform has updated its measurement guidelines for women's and children's garments but did not contact all users about the change. Social Media Reaction Many shoppers and sellers have taken to social media stating that platform listings now display an altered size classification versus the original listing because of the remapping. The platform stated the updated approach better aligns with other platforms. They have suggested members to review their products and update the measurements by hand if necessary, resulting in member annoyance. Size Classification Modifications Before the change, the measurements included a single numeric size and a letter, like S/8 or M/10. The updated approach includes an alphabetical indicator and numerical range such as S/UK 8-10. For certain items, the size labels have been reassigned - such as a large size was formerly size 12 but currently displays as UK 16-18. Member Accounts Frankie Bridger, who creates plus-size fashion videos, explained the modification "makes transactions more difficult". "Few clothing companies classify XL as 20-22," the way the service now categorizes. A different member, from Glasgow, stated items she posted on Vinted with size 14 labels were displaying on the service as size 20–22. "Should someone sized 20-22 purchase these they may become frustrated," she explained. Necessary Adjustments Another shopper, located in England, said she had been left angered because the modification necessitated personal updates the measurements for "each individual item". "For me this is particularly frustrating, since I have chronic health issues and platform income has been essential for me since losing part of my income," she explained. Platform Context The platform boasts over 100 million members, including 18 million in the UK. It has emerged as a preferred choice compared to resale services such as eBay and Depop.
