An additional two individuals have been arrested related to a theft at London's Heathrow Airport where 21 people sustained injuries by what is thought to be pepper spray, according to law enforcement.
A man, 24, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area for suspected robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. They both are still being held, the force said.
These detentions follow an investigation into an assault at the multi-level parking garage at Heathrow's Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the attack, a pair of female travelers were robbed of their suitcases upon exiting a parking garage elevator.
A three-year-old girl was among the those hurt during the incident. Five people went to hospital for medical care and were later released.
Police arrested a man in his thirties on suspicion of robbery and assault close to the location. He has since been released under investigation as the investigation proceeds.
Authorities were alerted at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of several people injured by an irritating chemical believed to be pepper spray.
The assault - an event that police said was a standalone incident and not considered terrorism - resulted in delays to rail services and the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility for a short time.
